Do people really die in love?

This question may difficult for many because most of us even do not know what real love is? There are million of people around us who go on searching for the true love for the whole life. True love is simple, innocent and does not care for any thing but in the present selfish world it very difficult to find people who love you because of you. Mostly people love us for our money, status or for some motive. Now in this situation if we think that some one will die for love then we are wrong. Most of people who die are either mentally upset or find it very difficult to face life. However due to our ignorance we give them name as the lovers. True loves are very rarely associated with the death because true love never requires any unification. True lover only wants the well being of his love. Therefore people die in love are either pretending to be as the lovers or they have never understood what love is?
