Indian marriages need to be registered
Yesterday, Supreme Court of India gave directions to all the states and union territories of India to register all the marriages happening in the states and union territories. Supreme Court has given only 90 days to all the states and union territories for coming out with rules and legislation in this direction. Supreme Court gave this decision in the wake of increasing number of people denying their marriages in the court. According to most of the customs and religions in India, it is not necessary to do so and some sections of the society like Muslims and Arya Samaj already give register their marriages with their own methods. Now it is to be seen that how governments and various people will react to this decisions and what will be new rules in this directions.
